The Evolution of Fashion

Isn't it ironic and often times hysterical when we see fashion styles from prior decades, with the eyeball of what our optical sense has become accustomed to seeing today, but most of us wore the hell out of those fashions?! Lets think back for a second, the 90's can be remembered for the following:
  • The catsuit
  • Ladies, you can't forget the scrunchie! Some of y'all didn't have enough hair and still made it work!
  • Baby doll dresses and knee-high boots
  • Men wore high collars with 3-button (sometimes more) suit jackets
  • Corduroy pants, capris, cargo pants
The 80's
  • The Miami Vice look with casual t-shirts under suit jackets
  • The tight and short Lycra mini-skirts
  • The Thriller look - leather jackets, sunglasses, and jheri curls
  • Short skirts over leggings
  • Run D.M.C made Adidas popular, and we can't forget the Converse sneaker! Everybody and their grand daddy had a pair.
  • The preppy look

The 70's

  • Wide-legged flare jeans
  • Platform shoes
  • A continuation of mini skirt
  • The disco look
  • Midis and Maxis skirts
  • Hip huggers! Hell yeah!
  • Hot pants
  • Spandex...lol
  • Zippered jumpsuits

Although not discussed here, our owner particularly likes the 1930's fashion which consisted of trends for men such as the zoot suit, knickerbockers, plus-fours, and fedoras.

What was your favorite era in fashion, and what were the particular styles you liked in that era? We can't wait to hear!
