Define Your Purpose

What is your Purpose in life? We were all created to fulfill a Purpose, but often times we do not know what that Purpose is. It can seem at times that we walk through life without a clear vision, and because of this, life merely becomes just "living". When you haven't defined your Purpose...there is nothing to focus your attention on except the things you KNOW you can do, instead of what your dominant Purpose is (and if there is one thing Purpose needs...it is focus). You'll know when you've defined your Purpose because, fulfilling it will not be as easy as doing the things you KNOW you can do, but you keep pursuing IT because IT...is what you're passionate about.
The ingredients which make up this dish called Purpose are: Need, Desire, and Ability. But wait, something's missing...how do you define this Purpose? The answer is simple. You must develop a personal mission statement for yourself (yes...business entities are not the only establishments that should create a mission statement...You are an entity too!). This mission statement should be congruent with who you are, and in order to develop it you should ask yourself three questions.

1) What is my life about?
2) What do I stand for?
3) What action am I taking to live what my life is about and what I stand for?

Once you've done this, your Purpose will be staring at you each and every day and you won't lose sight of it. Now all you have to do is press forward towards fulfillment. Black College Expressions, Inc. would love to hear what you have defined your Purpose in life to be, and would like to ask you to share it if you don't mind. Lets stop just "living" and instead live with a Purpose, a Vision (the byproduct of your Purpose), and a Mission (to achieve your Vision).
